About the Kerry Blue Terrier Club of Northern Ohio

The
Kerry Blue Terrier Club of Northern Ohio began in 1978 and was
chartered by the AKC (the American Kennel Club) in 1980. We have
actively hosted Kerry Blue specialty shows and have continually
performed outreach programs for three decades. We exceed
all compliance requirements set forth by the AKC.
The
Club operates north of Hwy Interstate 70 within Northern Ohio's borders,
servicing the larger extent of The Greater Cleveland/Akron/Canton
Metropolitan Area within the Northeast Ohio Geographic Region. Our goals
are closely modeled after the US Kerry Blue Terrier Club (USKBTC), and
we value the strong and cooperative relationship we have fostered with
their current leadership.
We strive to
host the best held Kerry specialty.
Canfield weekend is a highly renowned and prestigious affair for Kerry Breeders &
Fanciers alike featuring the finest competition, spectacular trophies,
fun social activities, and down to earth hospitality. This show
has been the anchor of our outreach.
We
have held Temperament Testing and other testing forums in the past. We
also have hosted Educational forums including veterinarian
presentations, animal communicators, grooming clinics for new Kerry
owners & exhibitors. and animal behaviorists.
Over time
there has been a renewed focus on giving back to our membership and
our community by increasing
the knowledge of Kerry Blue Terriers to the public at large by
participating in AKC "Meet the Breed" socials, as well as
local Irish Festivals. We actively promote improvement of the breed via responsible
breeding practices, ongoing breeder and puppy referral, support of genetic
research, and rescue.
We
have supported many sister clubs with genuine cooperation,
encouragement, participation, and donations. We are always eager to help.
We are not blinded by ego or bound by any rigid "Dogma" that
would ever compromise our commitment to uphold the Best Interest and
Safety of All Kerry Blue Terriers.
We
Invite all Kerry lovers, breeders, and sister clubs to come visit
us in Canfield Ohio this year and “Share in the Magic”.
If you are interested in the Breed or looking for a puppy, please
freely contact
us for information as well as support. In the meantime, please
explore our website's resources to discover more about this awesome
breed and our fine Club.
Kerry
On Always!
